Chevreuse is a 4-star Pyro Polearm user in Genshin Impact. She is the captain of the Maison Gardiennage’s Special Security and Surveillance Patrol. Chevreuse is described to wear justice in her actions as a righteous enforcer of the law.
Chevreuse’s Elemental Skill, Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire, allows her to quickly shoulder her musket and fire at her opponent(s), dealing AoE Pyro DMG. For a short duration after Chevreuse fires a shot, she will continuously restore HP to the active character on the field. The amount healed is based on her Max HP. Hold to fire in a different fashion. Hold Enter Aiming Mode, locking a target in her sights to fire a precise interdiction shot. If Chevreuse has an Overcharged Ball, then she will fire the Overcharged Ball instead, dealing greater Pyro DMG in a larger area. Chevreuse gains 1 Overcharged Ball every time a nearby character in the party triggers an Overloaded reaction, and can have up to 1 Overcharged Ball at a time.
Chevreuse’s Elemental Burst, Ring of Bursting Grenades, allows her to fire an explosive grenade at opponents with her musket, dealing AoE Pyro DMG. After the projectile hits, it will split into many secondary explosive shells. The secondary explosive shells will burst after a short interval, dealing Pyro DMG to nearby opponents.
Chevreuse’s best builds, artifacts, weapons, teams, and talent priority are available on Game8’s website. As a Sub-DPS, Chevreuse’s best Artifact is the Crimson Witch of Flames. This set will let her deal the most damage from her Elemental Skill and Burst. On paper, the Emblem of Severed Fate deals more damage compared to the Crimson Witch of Flames for Chevreuse. However, this comes at the cost of losing Energy Recharge, which the Crimson Witch of Flames Set helps a lot with. Emblem of Severed Fate is your best choice if you don’t need +180% Energy Recharge or if you are only relying on Chevreuse’s Elemental Skill for her source of damage.
Chevreuse’s Strengths include being locked to Overcharged teams, providing strong Overload reactions, and providing consistent off-field Pyro Damage that can also be repositioned 1. Her Weaknesses include below-average damage without buffs, longer fights reduce her solo support utility, making it a requirement to run a healer, high Elemental Burst cost, and below average Elemental Particle generation.
While Chevreuse is in your party, if your party contains at least one other Pyro and Electro character, triggering the Overloaded reaction causes the opponent’s Pyro and Electro resistance to decrease. Also, Chevreuse’s passive skill decreases the stamina consumed while sprinting.
Chevreuse is a valuable addition to any team in Genshin Impact. Her unique Elemental Skill and Burst make her a valuable addition to any team. While her low base stats make her a less desirable character to roll for, her strengths make her a great choice for players who want to focus on elemental reactions. With the right build and team composition, Chevreuse can be a game-changer in Genshin Impact.
Chevreuse is expected to be released on the second phase of Genshin Impact’s 4.3 Update which happens on January 9, 2024.
